Thanksgiving is an American holiday. By choosing to focus on Thanksgiving, I can guarentee that all the recipes and menus I find are American. I am American so American recipes are what I am most familiar with and are the easiest for me to interpret into modern terms when necessary. This also reduces (but doesn't eliminate!) the amount of conversions I need to do. Most Americans have in their mindwhat a "traditional" Thanksgiving day meal looks like. I wanted to see just how far back these "traditions" actually go. Finally, I wanted some new ideas and recipes to make during the autumn season.
